Umarex Fuel Review ( Air Rifle)
This here review deals with the Umarex Fuel air rifle in .22 caliber. The fuel is based on a couple of developments that were pioneered by Umarex during the last couple of years. The power house in this rifle is the ReAxis gas piston and this propels lead pellets up to a solid 1000 fps. At the business end of the rifle we have the SilencAir air gun suppressor that reduces the heavy ‘crack’ one would normally expect from a 1000 fps, to about 94db, which is regarded as very quiet indeed.
The rifle has front and rear fiber optic sight with windage and elevation for the rear one. A nice touch is the Weaver adapter for a choice of a multitude of attachments. Although your favourite scope will probably go there, you could fit a laser there, or for the heck of it, a 40mm grenade launcher (well, one can fantasize).
Umarex have added an average 3-9×32 scope and it is a bit better than most bundled scopes, so no real complaints there.
About the trigger: The trigger goes into automatic safety when you cock the rifle, which is what we expect from air rifles these days, so no surprises there. The trigger has a very light first stage and a crisp second stage at about 4,2 pounds.
Now the really unusual feature about the Umarex Fuel that separates it from most other air rifles is the small yet sturdy bipod that swings out from the composite stock, giving you a real sniper-like precision ability.

The Umarex Fuel has reached a very attractive level. It’s a gas piston, break barrel air gun that allows conventional rifle shooters to enjoy some trigger time without the frustration of having to learn a completely new way of shooting. It feels very much like a ‘real’ gun. It is priced very attractively for the quality. I’d get this over a Crosman any day. You might want to upgrade to a slightly better scope after a while, but the one included is passable. This is an air rifle that feels solid, is inexpensive and is backed by a 3 year warranty. It is suitable for new shooters and old hands all the same. I did get one myself, and I am very happy about it.
