Hatsan BT65 SB Elite Review ( Air Rifle)

Hatsan are a big name when it comes to air gunning. And in this case, with this particular item, we talk about a rifle that is literally quite big.

This is the SB or sidebolt version of the new Hatsan BT65 SB Elite. A precharged pneumatic, or PCP, rifle. This is the synthetic stock version that boasts a multi adjustable butt. Sidebolt cocking, although there is also a rearbolt option. This has a removable 10 shot revolving magazine, an understock accessory rail, and a 200 bar pressure cylinder and an integral pneunometer below the barrel, which is threaded for asilencer.

The Hatsan BT65 SB Elite is laden with features. The synthetic stock is delightfully balanced for field work. The possibility of butt adjustment and the adjustable cheek piece makes it adjustable to the millimeter. It really is a sensational experience to align the stock to your shoulder at the exact distance you wanted. Having the trigger at the exact place where you want it and the abiliy to get the scope to fit flush to your shooting eye. The key needed for the adjustments is included in the box, along with all the other nifty accessories. You even get a sling, with detachable swivels. The sling has a massive Hatsan logo on it. I usually frown upon being the poster boy forcompanies, but I feel that I can stand by my Hatsan purchase so at the end of the day, I do not mind.

It is also worth fitting the bipod (included) for that sniper feel and precision. There are non-slip grip panels on stock and understock, which is a very nice feature. The nipple for pneumatic charging is protected by a cover, which rotates for access. Nice feature, cause repairing a damaged valve on a PCP rifle can be quite costly.

When loading, move the lever and pop open the latch to pop out the revolver style magazine. Fill it with 10 pellets, taking care while doing so to seat them properly. Use your nail to fit them flush against the metal. There is no tangible recoil at all. With the right ammunition, accuracy and precision is assured.

I have nothing but praise for Hatsan’s Quarto trigger. Nicely shaped, it has the right amount of pressure to go off and with plenty of adjustability to fill your preference, and is backed up by a manual glide-type safety on the left side of the breach. While pest-controllers will be pleased to see a ½” UNF threaded muzzle, I don’t think the rifle’s report is loud enough to warrant a silencer. It has certainly not got the bark of a spring rifle.

Well, you certainly do get a lot of gun for your money and I don’t just mean features. At a 107 centimetres long this rifle is pretty long. I tend to appreciate Hatsan rifles, and this one just confirms my loyalty to the brand.
