Hammers 3-9x32AO Air Rifle Scope Review
Very recently, I invested in a Gamo .177 caliber air rifle to expand my collection. Although I was pretty pleased with the performance it delivered, the scope that came with it fell short of my expectations. But considering the price of the gun, it was tough for me to get a scope from an expensive brand like Leupold or Hawke.
I started asking my friends and searching different forums until I came across the Hammers 3-9x32AO Air Rifle Scope. Naturally, I was a bit skeptical at first since there is very little information about it. But I still decided to take a chance with it and was quite pleasantly surprised with the quality.
In this article, I will give you a hands-on Hammers 3-9X32AO Air Rifle Scope review to help you understand whether it will be a good addition to your arsenal.

The Hammers 3-9x32AO Air Rifle Scope with One-Piece Mount. Check out this stoutly built favorite for high power spring or gas piston air rifles. the rugged yet lightweight aluminum scope will hold zero against powerful shots that can shake up many less substantial scopes. The finger tight windage and elevation adjustments are always right where you need them, and they won’t budge during recoil so you can take your time to get it right on the next shot. With the MilDot reticle, accurate shooting becomes much easier on long ranges, and a standard one inch main tube prevents parallax error at any zoom setting thanks to its design which eliminates flexible hinge points typically found in other mounts.

First Impression is the Most Important
To me, the first impression either makes it or breaks it. When I got my hands on this product, I had very few expectations. But to my surprise, it arrived in a well-packaged box, which is quite surprising as the packaging is one of the first places where the manufacturers usually want to cut costs.
The scope itself is pretty heavy, which is a good thing. It can easily handle the recoil from my Gamo Wildcat, and the optics are pretty decent. The standard mil-dot reticle design gives perfect focus along with the AO and zoom. In addition, the objective lens and power ring move pretty smoothly without any wobbling.
It features a top and a side-mounted turret to adjust the windage and elevation. The parallax adjustment at the front of the scope felt a bit tighter than I would like.
This unit comes with a one-piece mount with four mounting screws. It is compatible with any dovetail-style air rifle. So getting it to work with the dovetail on my Gamo should not be an issue. The mounting mechanism might not be the best in the market, but it is certainly a lot better than what I would expect for the price.
Installation and Adjustments
After the initial checkup, I was ready to install it. As I said, it is a single mount scope, so I was not worried about getting it to work that much. Still, I had a few slight hiccups. Although it should not be enough to make you want to invest in something else instead, it is still worth knowing about it before you buy it.
The scope is slightly longer than your average scope, which means installing it further back will make it a bit easier to use. It comes with a solid mount, and installing it on my dovetail was not too much of an issue.
Adjusting the focus took a little while, but if you are used to working on scopes, it should not be too challenging. After installation and setup, I fired a couple of shots to see how it holds up. Thankfully, the scope holds zero surprisingly well, eliminating the need for further adjustments.
Magnification and Optics
Thanks to the adjustable objective lens of 32mm diameter, the scope allows for a magnification range between 3x to 9x. Tge range of magnification is quit good for small and medium game hunting. It offered a noticeable step-up than what came preinstalled in my air rifle. The magnification dial moves smoothly, letting you switch up the zoom in the scope easily. 3-9x magnification 40mm objective lens ensure good light transmission and 3x-9x power magnification. Also brightness settings is easy with the help of controller . Optical quality of this coated optics is very good.
Its lens quality is much better than what you would expect at this price range. You can easily find your target using the mil-dot crosshair, and the clarity of the lens is exceptional. The objective lens has a rubber coating on the outside to protect against the shock from recoil. The tube diameter is 32mm. This is great for hunging as well as target shooting inexpensive scope. This Illuminated Mil-dot Tactical Rifle Scope not good for night time shooting, you need to buy a night vision scope for that.
The exposed turret design lets you adjust the windage and elevation on the scope easily to get the perfect zero. In addition, the parallax adjustment dial allows you to perfectly set it up so that anytime you fire a shot; the bullet hits perfectly on the target you see in the crosshair.
The parallax dial does not come pre-adjusted. You can set it up without any hassle at any range upwards of 5 yards. Personally, I set it up at around 35 yards and so far, had no issues with accuracy.
Durability and Build Quality
With cheaper scopes, the build quality is the most important element to check. Even for an inexpensive unit like this one, you do not want to have to replace it after a few months. Safe to say, I was the most concerned about its longevity when placing the order.
It has been almost six months since I have been using it, and so far, the unit has held up quite well. All the components of the scope, including the mounting pieces, screws, dials, feel well-made. Sure, it is not as polished as what you would get with a Leupold scope, but it is still decent enough to take a beating.
The unit can shrug off any recoil shocks thanks to its heavier weight. There is an obvious trade-off since this would make your rifle a bit heavier. It is also quite versatile since it can work with both magnum or spring-piston air rifles. The added weight of the unit is not too much to impact your gun handling drastically.
There is not much to complain about in terms of the build quality and design of the unit except the eye relief. While using it, to get a good view through the scope, I had to put my eye too close to the scope. It might not be an issue for you, though, if you are used to budget-friendly air rifle scopes.
This air rifle scope comes with 1 pirce mount that help you to easy setup with air rifles.
Hammers 3-9×32 AO scope is definately one of best variable scope with great features. It has shock resistant capacity that makes it more durable and easy to handle scope.

Final Thoughts
This scope is perfect for people who are looking to get a budget-friendly unit. It comes with decent zoom and offers excellent sighted accuracy making it an admirable option at such a low price
But would I recommend it? Yes, in a heartbeat. I had no serious issues with my unit to negatively impact my experience. So, this airgun scope is not much expensive scopes but an excellent scope for sure.
Hammers scope has good reputaiton for service on market foe its magnification level and accuracy of shooting. So, its a perfect choice for gun optics not only for new hunter but also for professional hunters upto mid range hunting.
For many guns out there, this unit offers a noticeable improvement over the preinstalled scope. The slightly poorer eye relief is definitely something to know about if you are planning to buy it. However, considering the many other excellent features you get with it, it almost seems like a non-factor, at least to me.
