Crosman Comrade CO2 rifle. The look and feel of a real Kalashnikov
Just as the name implies, the Crosman Comrade AK-Style 0.177 BB Air Rifle was designed with the AK (Avtomat Kalashnikova) as an inspiration. This makes it quite an unusual air rifle, and is bound to turn heads wherever you go, and possibly get the police called on you. Since the original Junker air rifle made by the Izhmash weapon factory is not sold in the US anymore, the Crosman Comrade is probably the closest thing to the real deal. Instead of the Junker AK47 / AK105 look, the Crosman Comrade looks a lot more like the Spetsnaz AK74, with the well known funnel shape of the barrel
Crosman have always made air rifles and pistols for the plinking community, and this looks like it is up the same alley, but with an interesting assault rifle design It seems like a fun gun to mess around with. So let’s take a closer look at it.
Basic things that you should know about this air rifle:
It’s a CO2 rifle.
You feed it with regular CO2 cartridges. It makes sense since a break barrel or pump version of a semi automatic air rifle would not make sense. You can fire up to 150 pellets with a single cartridge. The reservoir holds 150 pellets and the visual feeder magazine holds 22 pellets. You can fire 22 pellets as fast as you can pull the trigger, cause it is a semi automatic air rifle. Since it handles well with regular Crosman Copperhead 6000 Copper Coated BBs .177 (4,5mm) round pellets, at least the ammo is very cheap. The real cost is in the CO2 cartridges. Although you can get genuine Crosman 12 Gram CO2 (15 Cartridges) at a really good price, you can still run through them at an alarming rate during an afternoon of shooting.
At 600FPS and with a light pellet, of course this air rifle is not a heavy hitter, and naturally not a vermin controller. Excellent fun for paper targets though. And at the lower end of the price range, you can not go wrong. It costs the same as movie tickets for the entire family, and it will last you a lot longer.
